MicoAir MTF-01 is an external optical flow sensor with a built-in laser rangefinder. It is compatible with iNav, ArduPilot, and PX4 firmware. The sensor connects via UART using Mavlink (ArduPilot, PX4), or MSP (iNav) protocols. It can also be connected to a PC using a USB converter and configured via the MicoAssistant application. The protocol can be changed via the app.
The optical flow sensor measures ground-relative velocity using a downward-facing camera. The camera has a 42° field of view (FOV), and requires at least 60 Lux of light for proper function. Optical flow starts measuring from a height of 8 cm. The maximum measurable speed is 7 m/s at one meter of altitude. The optical flow sensor enables advanced stabilization even without a GPS module, making it ideal for indoor environments. The integrated laser rangefinder measures distances between 2 cm and 8 m. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Configuration is recommended for experienced users.
